Coursetexts Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using coursetexts.com (the "Site"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

2. Description of Service

Coursetexts provides access to course materials and notes with authorization from Canvas and Harvard University. The service allows professors to update their course pages and students to access course materials. All course materials are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license, allowing free use, adaptation, and sharing for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution.

3. User Responsibilities

Users of the Site agree to:

  • Use the service for lawful purposes only
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site
  • Not interfere with the proper functioning of the Site
  • Not distribute or share access credentials
  • Respect intellectual property rights

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Coursetexts or its content providers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Course materials are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.

5. Professor Access

Professors may update their course pages through Google authentication. By doing so, they grant Coursetexts permission to display and distribute their provided materials to authorized users under the CC BY-NC-SA license.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the Site.

7. Limitation of Liability

Coursetexts shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or any content therein.

8. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
